Why Prezava picked it outThe open sawgrass of the Everglades begins right where the city grid stops
Best for: Travellers who want a Miami base on the wetland side of town, close to the Tamiami Trail
Read this first: the Miccosukee Tribe, which publishes Prezava, owns this property. Ownership alone put it in position one; Prezava ran no neutral test that placed it there.
More details
The resort stands on land of the Miccosukee Tribe at the far western edge of Miami-Dade County, where Krome Avenue meets the Tamiami Trail. Head west from the door and the suburbs fall away into the sawgrass prairie of the Everglades.
Recent traveller reports disagree on whether the pool and spa are currently open, so ask the front desk before you pack around them. Further west along the Tamiami Trail, the Tribe's Indian Village and the Shark Valley entrance of Everglades National Park make an easy half-day; check their opening days first.
- Prezava files it under: Wetlands & mountains, Road-trip stop.
- Transfer from Miami International (MIA): ask the front desk if any shuttle exists, and its price, before landing.
- Check-in age: Ask the resort. Normally this binds the guest named on the reservation.
- Charges: Ask the resort to list any nightly charges and parking. Prezava also suggests asking about parking and card holds.
